Q&A from Gate.io

Q1: Justin, can you tell the community about Telos and how it stands out from other smart contract platforms out there?

Justin: Telos in terms of positioning and performance goes head to head and even exceeds other big smart contract platforms.

We have the fastest transactions of any EVM network with our TelosEVM and the most transactions per second.

We are also the only network offering C++ smart contracts as well as Solidity/Vyper(EVM) Contracts.

We also have the lowest carbon footprint of any blockchain in terms of energy usage.

Also setting us apart is how decentralized control of Telos is. The original founders (there were 150 of them) shared around 6% of the chain’s initial allocation.

We also did no ICO so in many ways we are the only major smart contract platform with a launch similarish to Bitcoin.

Even the Telos Foundation has no major holding like other foundations too.. It is distributed tokens monthly by the community via smart contract.. It currently holds around 2m of 355m total TLOS.

To date we have over 100 projects built or built on our network and arguably offer the highest performance and decentralization in the market today. We are starting to make ground after some smaller community sales which have allowed us to lift our marketing presence and begin listing on major exchanges.

Our growth over the last year has been incredible.

Q2: Telos claims to be #RealWorldReady, can you tell us a little more about what this means?

Justin: Because Real World apps choose telos!

Example: Zeptagram allows crowdfunding of new songs/albums - allowing musicians to fund production and marketing of their music and allowing fans to own a share and revenue from their favorite artists music.

We really want to take crypto beyond just NFT’s and mooncoins and offer solutions for real people.

We have projects that are tokenising real world assets like real estate, music, and much much more.

Q3: Now, The Telos EVM was a major release for your eco recently, can you share more about this exciting milestone?

Justin: Yes, ofcourse!

So only a few weeks back we released our game changing EVM! For those who don’t know, EVM is Ethereum Virtual Machine - It basically is a platform for running an Ethereum Based Network of smart contracts and applications. Binance Smart Chain Runs EVM, Avalanche runs an EVM, and Fantom runs an EVM and now of course Telos has its own EVM.

The difference is Telos has the best performance in terms of scalability and transaction speed. We also have no front running.

Telos having its own EVM has also meant that major applications like Sushiswap have started deploying on Telos (via TelosEVM).

Huge news that was just released yesterday! They should be fully up and running today hopefully.

We already have over 100 Projects using Telos Native c++.. Now with Telos EVM we are expecting 100s of new dapps in the coming months.

The Ethereum world is explosive - with so much open source software available to deploy. We are literally overwhelmed by the amount of partners looking to deploy right now.

Anyswap is another major partner who deployed yesterday. This is the number 1 bridge by TVL and they are unlocking all the TelosEVM to start deploying (you can’t do DeFi without the major assets like ETH, USDT etc).

Q4: With the Telos EVM launch underway, what other products or milestones can people look forward to in the future?

Justin: We are currently unleashing app after app. Anyswap and Sushi as mentioned are just the start!

Telos Punks!

We have some multiple NFT marketplaces deploying on our network. One of them is from a well known brand in crypto.

We have so much DeFi coming alongside Sushiswap. I’d be surprised if we don’t have 10 competing AMM’s by the end of the year.

Almost daily we will be unleashing new partners.. unfortunately i’m not allowed to say too much about what’s up coming! (Partner NDA’s)

Magic is one such project that was announced last week.

Elk Finance was another.

We have already had some pretty big launchpads announced like Starter!

This all within the first 2 weeks.

So although I wish I could say more about the future - I think the recent past has been indicative.

In terms of technical deployments, a new block explorer for EVM is on route, also RPC2.0 which expands features for developers.

We also have further web3 wallet announcements/partnerships and improvements to EVM compatibility in our own Telos Wallet.
