According to a report from CoinWorld on May 15, U.S. President Trump stated that he has asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop building factories in India. During his state visit to Qatar, Trump mentioned his conversation with Cook, saying: "I had a little friction with Cook yesterday; he is building factories all over India. And I don't want them to build in India." Trump indicated that after this exchange, Apple would "increase production in the U.S." He also pointed out that India is one of the countries with the highest tariff barriers globally, making it "very difficult" for U.S. products to sell in that country. However, he added that the Indian side has proposed dropping tariffs on U.S. products in an attempt to reach an agreement on import duties.
