Odaily Planet Daily News Fidelity Digital Assets, in its 2025 Outlook Report, stated that the roadmap centered around Rollup aims to expand the Ethereum network while maintaining the operability of Layer 1 blockchain. However, since the Deneb-Cancun upgrade, there has been increasing discussion about this decision as the fees for Layer 1 have significantly decreased. Nevertheless, in the short term, the revenue from the Blob market is unlikely to compensate for the significant revenue reduction caused by the previous upgrade. However, it still has positive benefits in the long term by enhancing network effects. Many investors who follow cash flows may think that Layer 2 will extract value, but the relationship between Layer 2 and the Ethereum network is mutually beneficial. The base layer provides cheap transaction execution services through Layer 2, further promoting the distribution of Ethereum tokens while maintaining the core concept of Decentralization and benefiting from it.
