German Chancellor Scholz submits vote of confidence application

The December 11th data from Jinshi News, German Chancellor Scholz on Wednesday sent a request to the parliament, asking for a vote of confidence on December 16th, paving the way for early federal elections next year. Since the collapse of the coalition led by Scholz, the policy-making of the largest economy in Europe has basically stalled. If, as expected, Scholz loses the vote of confidence, he must ask the president to dissolve the parliament and hold new elections. Scholz and the opposition parties have agreed to hold the general election on February 23rd next year. Last week, French Prime Minister Barnier lost a vote of no confidence, highlighting the unusual political instability facing these two major European countries.
