NBA star Shaquille O'Neal will pay $1.8 million to settle the FTX investor lawsuit.

PANews, June 12 - According to CNBC, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has agreed to pay $1.8 million to settle a class-action lawsuit from FTX investors. The settlement agreement is pending court approval and will absolve him of all related legal liabilities in the future, as well as prohibit him from seeking compensation from FTX's bankruptcy estate. The lawsuit alleges that O'Neal promoted FTX as a safe and reliable investment platform through live events and social media, allegedly helping to promote unregistered securities. Unlike other FTX spokespeople whose lawsuits have been dismissed, O'Neal remains involved in the case due to the complexity of the legal document delivery process. In 2022, he stated to CNBC that he was "just a paid advertising spokesman."
